Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Monday that the country was moving along the way to progress due to the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the relentless efforts of the cabinet and institutions.
Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the first anniversary of the government government led by PML-N, Tarar said that the Government sacrificed its policy for national interest.
Shehbaz swore as prime minister on March 4, 2024, after the general elections of February 8. At that time, said Tarar, the challenges facing the nation seemed insurmountable, but government efforts showed a remarkable change.
He repented to the opposition PTI for making the “chaos policy and anarchy, while trying to push the country towards an economic quagmire. He said that the PTI even wrote to the IMF to interrupt Pakistan’s rescue program.
On the other hand, said the Minister of Information, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif brought the country out of economic crises, restored the image of Pakistan internationally and brought prosperity and development to the country within a year of his government.
“What seemed an insurmountable challenge only 12 months ago, [the government’s effort] He has yielded to a remarkable change. We have not simply stabilized the economy, but we have also drawn the way to economic growth, “said the minister.
“The PML-N made difficult decisions and sacrificed its policy on national interest. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is a reformist leader who knows the art of governance,” he said, adding that the prime minister would bring to the public the general performance of each ministry on Tuesday (today).
Tantar, on the occasion, mentioned the key indicators that showed that the economy was directed in the right direction. “It is no less than a miracle that inflation has dropped to 1.5%, which only last year was 23.1%,” he said.
“The interest rate has been reduced to 12%, the Stock Exchange has been breaking records every two days, the current account deficit is becoming surpluses, you [Information technology] Exports have increased by 32%, and general exports are increasing. “
