A robbery occurred in a mosque in the Cantt area of Rawalpindi, where a thief stole a laptop and a bag containing valuable items while the owner was compromised in prayer. CCTV images have emerged, capturing the suspect in action during the incident.
The images reveal to a well -dressed man with a couple of black sunglasses, a shirt and pants. It is seen collecting a shoulder bag containing a laptop and other belongings of the designated area inside the mosque.
After taking the bag, the thief changed the footwear for the shoes of another worshiper before leaving the mosque.
The CCTV shows the thief initially watching the shoe shelf and then taking the bag from the point of the bag, before moving towards the exit. He wore a black pair of sunglasses and seemed to mix with the other worshipers.
Zia-Ur-Rehman, the victim, filed a complaint with the Cantt Police after noticing that his bag, which contained a laptop, important documents, a USB and a charger, was missing. When reviewing the images, the police confirmed that an unknown thief had stolen the bag.
Police have registered a case based on the victim’s report. According to DSP Cantt, Mirza Javed Iqbal, the investigation is underway and the suspect is expected to be arrested soon with the help of CCTV evidence.
This incident follows a similar one in Lahore, where a thief stole a laptop from another mosque just the previous day.
