- CPU-Z now includes a detailed Diagnostic Verification System of GPU
- You can verify the ROP of RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 TI
- Nvidia has affirmed that it affects less than 1% of the RTX 50 series
A new update for CPU-Z validator now verifies the RTX 50 series graphics cards for missing reps, which can mean reduced performance, directly through the diagnostic program.
CPU-Z is one of the most reliable diagnostic programs available online, which could previously give a basic overlapping vision of your graphics card. Start from the new update, now you will say a message like “this GPU is supposed to have [X] Rops “, with support for RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 TI, so that I can immediately know if something is wrong with your GPU.
X user @d0CTB showed how the new CPU-Z update can inform you about this rare problem. In the head card heading (GPU), the GPU type, the GPU brand, the GPU specifications, the GPU units, the VRM GPU and the GPU APIs will show. These are the GPU units specifically those that verify the total number of shading units, texture units and representation units (ROP) for any discrepancy.
According to the reports, a small handful of members of the RTX 50 series have been sent without complete hardware as standard in the tables. It is said that less than 1% of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 TI graphics cards (or one in 200) have a loss of rop, which means that the performance decreased compared to what they should be able to achieve.
When the problem was marked for the first time at the end of last month, the director of Global Public Relations of Nvidia, Ben Berraondo, said: “The average graphic performance impact is 4%, without impact on the workloads of AI and calculations. Affected consumers can contact the Board manufacturer for a replacement. The production anomaly has been corrected” (through the Verge).
Render the units (ROP) perform functions such as pixel data processing, mixing, textures, antialiasing and other essential processes. They are one of the latest data pipes that act as a buffer in the local memory, interacting with the memory group aboard the graphics card, writing and reading values.
CPU-Z can now detect differences in total ROP available for RTX 5090/5090D, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 TI. It is said that the affected units have a reduced number by 4%, which means that the impacted RTX 5090 have 168 ROP instead of 176, the RTX 5080 has 104 ROP instead of 112, and the RTX 5070 TI has 88 ROP instead of 96. Something to take into account if it has experienced a less stellar performance so far.
A quick way to diagnose your RTX 50 series GPU
Taking into account how the RTX 50 Series Stock has been to have in their hands since the first GPUs were launched, having an affected AIB model is incredibly disappointing. Through the new CPU-Z verification update, you can quickly describe where you have a problem graphic card that must be RMA according to the guarantee you have available.
With luck, if the U-1% of the affected RTX 50 series is still out in nature, this rapid verification will save you many problems later. It is unlikely that you have a problematic RTX 5090, RTX 5080 or RTX 5070 TI, but there is nothing worse to spend between $ 800 and $ 2,000+ in something suboptimal.
