A police report filed in the Court has revealed that a total of 32 FIR have been registered against former Punjab Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, throughout the province.
The report was presented in response to a petition presented by Elahi, looking for details of ancient and new cases against him. According to the Punjab police, 15 cases have been registered in LaHore, including those related to the disturbances of May 9, 4 in Faisalabad, 1 in Attock, 1 in Gujranwala and 11 in Rawalpindi.
During the hearing, Judge Nadeem commented that the matter should be closed. However, Elahi’s lawyer opposed, arguing that the police report was inaccurate and contrary to the facts.
Requesting time to present more arguments, the lawyer said he had strong reservations about the details provided. By accepting the request, the court postponed the hearing until March 10 to obtain more arguments. In his request, Elahi said that the cases against him were politically motivated, destined to harass and humiliate him despite his alleged lack of participation.
In addition, he declared that his repeated requests for information on pending cases and consultations were not answered.
Elahi urged the court to lead the relevant authorities to provide the complete details of the FIR and consultations to avoid unexpected arrests. The case will be resumed again at the next audience.
Meanwhile, an anti -terrorism court (ATC) extended the interim bond of PTI Musarrat Jamshed’s leader and her husband Jamshed Iqbal Chema until March 22 in multiple cases related to the disturbances of May 9. Atc Manzer Ali Gill judge presided over the hearing on the bail requests for the couple who appeared before the court at the expiration of their interim bail. Police informed the court that investigations had been completed and that the couple’s arrest was required.
