- Now you can ask for the LG G5 OLED TV in the United Kingdom
- John Lewis is the first retailer to launch early orders
- The launch prices are identical to its predecessor, the LG G4
The first prices of LG G5 OLED TV have appeared online, and surprisingly (and merciously for our wallets) are the same as those of its predecessor, the LG G4.
John Lewis is the first retailer to list the prices of four of the LG G5 models; The sets of 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches. The price of G5 on the John Lewis site is as follows:
- LG 55 inches G5 OLED: £ 2,399
- LG 65 inches G5 OLED: £ 3,299
- LG 77 inches G5 OLED: £ 4,499
- LG 83 inches G5 OLED: £ 6,999
These launch prices are identical to those of the predecessor of the G5, the LG G4, one of the best 2024 OLED televisions.
These United Kingdom prices are dedicated to the recent launch of European prices for LG G5, C5 and B5 models, which were also the same as the 2024 alignment.
Interestingly, although the new 48 -inch model of LG G5 is not mentioned in John Lewis, a quick search shows that Peter Tyson lists him at a price of £ 1,799. This is practically in line with the price of € 2,100 that appears in European prices.
Another interesting note is that there are two different models of 55 and 65 inches: the G54LW and G56Ls. The first comes with a wall assembly and the second comes with a support, although there is no difference in the price.
The early orders are available on the John Lewis website and also shows us our first potential launch date, with all the listings that show a ‘suggested delivery date’ of 3-4 weeks, which means that customers can wait for their televisions at the end of March/early April, which has been the general pattern in recent years.
At the time of writing, there are no early prices or orders available for OLED LG C5 or LG B5 TVs in the United Kingdom.
A welcome surprise
While we had an idea that the launch prices of the LG G5 would continue to be the same as last year, thanks to European prices just over a week ago, it is great to see it confirmed.
Each time the latest television models are revealed, with the OLED TV 2025 LG range that reaches CES 2025 in January, we always anticipate an increase in prices of its predecessor, usually to account for new features and, of course, inflation. In previous years, there has been an increase of approximately 1- £ 200 in each model (this was the case with LG G3 and LG G4), so we anticipate that this could also be the case with LG G5.
However, the European price of LG OLED TV gave us hope and it is great news that is true for the United Kingdom. Although on paper there is no big difference between the G4 and the G5, the G5 now admits the 165Hz update rate and has what I think is a more exciting potential update: an impulse of 40%full screen brightness, which LG suggested in CES.
While we have not yet fully tried the LG G5, I am so anxious to have it in my hands to see how it is followed from its five -star predecessor, the G4. And once we discover prices for LG C5 and LG B5, we will make sure to warn you.
