- Samsung has confirmed that an UI 7 will finally be launched in April
- A construction prior to launch has been available in the Galaxy S25 series since the launch
- More devices will have access to beta versions in the period prior to liberation
Samsung has confirmed that an UI 7 will finally see a stable launch in April, four months after the updated Android wrap was made available for the first time along with the Galaxy S25 line.
A UI 7 has been sent with the Galaxy S25 series since the new flagship phones were launched in January, but this is a construction prior to the launch. The software is still officially in Beta on most Galaxy devices.
A UI 7 is based on Android 15, which was launched in October last year, this means that the users of some of the best Samsung phones in recent years, such as the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series, will have been waiting for up to half a year to have the update in their hands.
That is much longer than competing telephone brands such as Google and OnePlus have had to wait: the Android 15 pixels and Oxygenos 15 of OnePlus has been available for selected devices for quite some time.
The iPhones, of course, execute Apple iOS Software instead of Android, with Apple generally issuing updates to all eligible devices at the same time. All this is to say that the launch strategy of One UI 7 of Samsung has been quite unconventional.
In the period prior to the stable version, Samsung has enabled new Betas UI 7 for Galaxy Z Flip 6 folding phones and Galaxy Z Fold 6. The Galaxy S24 series previously had access to the beta version, while users of the Galaxy S23 series will need to wait another month according to Android Authority.
As we report before, there is the possibility that Google emits Android 16 on May, which could threaten to make an UI 7 feel outdated very shortly after the launch, it is not that there is much that Samsung can do about it now.
In total, all Galaxy S phones (including FE models) that date back to the Galaxy S21 series will get a UI 7, as well as the Galaxy Z fold and Galaxy Z Flip models dating from the galaxy z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z fold 3. A surprise of the devices a-series A and Galaxy Tab will also receive the update It has compiled practically a complete list.
So, now that the end of this long wait is in sight, what do Samsung fans have to expect? Keep reading to get a quick summary of the five best new features in an IU 7.
Now bar
The Now Bar is Samsung’s response to Apple’s dynamic Island, but instead of a pill -shaped cut at the top of the screen, Samsung’s implementation exists as a pill -shaped bar that emerges from any physical hardware.
The Now Bar lives on the blockade screen of your Galaxy phone, and can show notifications, play music or other routines, such as timers and custom uses, specific compatible applications.
Although it is not as omnipresent as the dynamic island or other implementations for the delivery of Android Live notifications such as the OnePlus dynamic cloud, the now bar is a new way of monitoring its applications and activities.
New notifications
The way in which Galaxy Samsung phones handle notifications have changed with an IU 7. The configuration tabs and rapid notifications have been separated to reduce the disorder, and now two different menus inhabit.
As the Android Police points out, there is also the new filter notifications tab in the configuration application, which allows users to filter minimized, old or background notifications.
In addition, notifications have a new appearance, with a rounded pill shape that fits the rest of the newly updated user interface.
UI renewed
A UI 7 brings a new appearance to Galaxy, with renewed stock icons, new softer animations and new Widgets styles.
There is also a frosted glass effect that is found in the entire user interface that gives a sensation of dimension and softness to the general experience, with rounded corners in most icons and eyelashes.
Aesthetics is, of course, subjective, but it cannot be denied that an UI 7 looks elegant and modern compared to its predecessor, a UI 6, although if it coincides with its personal taste it is another matter.
When Samsung revealed the Galaxy S25 series and an UI 7 in the first showcase of Samsung Galaxy this year, the company focused strong on its new tools and characteristics of AI.
As Sammobile points out, some of these characteristics will reach the oldest Galaxy phones with the launch of an UI 7: the transcripts of self -styled features and writing assistance tools are two outstanding examples, and the Android police suggests that the audio draft could also reach major phones.
Some new characteristics of Galaxy AI, such as the Brief Now, are specifically enabled by the S25 series hardware, so we will wait a little before we know exactly what comes to the oldest Galaxy phones.
Best adaptive load options
The adaptive load allows your phone to monitor and adapt to your personal charge schedule to better preserve the long -term battery of your device.
Most modern smartphones offer some type of adaptive or limiting batteries, but an UI 7 offers users of the galaxy new depth in how they approach this characteristic.
With an UI 7, you can choose between three load limiters: a basic limit that stops charging 100% and is rented at 95%, an adaptive mode that stops loading at 80% until the phone predicts that it will soon wake up and a difficult limit of 80%.
Conventional technological wisdom suggests that lithium -ion batteries are better stored between 20% and 80% load, so these options should help you get some more cycles of your phone’s battery.
There you have it: five reasons to get excited about an UI 7 while we wait for it to finally be launched in April. Will the wait be worth it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
