The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, received a phone call from the US National Security Advisor.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Walters transmitted a message of gratitude and praise on behalf of US President Donald Trump for Pakistan’s efforts in the counterterrorism.
In response, he congratulated Walters for his appointment as the US National Security Advisor. And expressed hope of further strengthening the long and multifaceted relationship between the two countries under the administration of President Trump.
Giving reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue cooperation with the United States in the fight against terrorism and applauded President Trump’s announcement about the return of the military team left by US forces in Afghanistan.
The two parties also discussed the expansion of cooperation in sectors such as information, energy and mineral technology. They agreed the importance of continuous dialogue on trade, investment, climate change and health, in order to advance the broader bilateral cooperation.
