The highway police record the first FIR after the car trapped at 173 km/h

The Pakistan highway police recorded the first FIR for speeding and arrested the driver after detecting a vehicle that travels at 173 kilometers per hour, authorities said Thursday.

The incident occurred near the M-4 highway, where the vehicle was captured exceeding the legal speed limit, according to the highway police spokesman Syed Imran Ahmed.

The driver, identified as Rahim Khan, was reserved under negligence and speeding positions at the Budhla Sant in Fullan.

He was later delivered to the Local Police.

The highway police promised to continue a strict action against traffic violations, urging drivers to comply with the speed limits.

Previously, the highway police spokesman declared that the vehicles that exceed 150 km/h on the highway will stop immediately, with fines imposed and signed registered against the offenders.

The speed limit on three -lane highways is 120 km/h for cars, while public service vehicles are restricted to 110 km/h.

The authorities have also highlighted the need for more effective speed monitoring on national roads to prevent accidents, with an approach to ensure that there are safety barriers to improve road safety.

In addition, the Superior Court of LAHORE (LHC) has ordered the authorities to impose a fine of RS10,000 to the offenders of the Unidirectional Traffic Rule on the service roads during the hours of school dismissal.

The decision, issued by Judge Shahid Karim, aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve the discipline of the road near educational institutions. During the hearing on multiple requests related to Smog control, the reduction of pollution and conservation of groundwater, Judge Karim emphasized that the strictest application and heavier fines would naturally lead to better compliance with traffic laws.

A member of the Judicial Commission of Water and Environment informed the Court that, despite the previous directives, the Development Authority of Lahore (LDA) had only issued notices to schools regarding the management of the drop line without taking concrete measures.
