- A new patent has revealed that Samsung is working on a unique update to his smart ring
- A future galaxy ring could have a new type of built -in temperature sensor
- I would use movement sensors to determine what you are measuring
Samsung Galaxy Ring is the best smart ring that goes thanks to its excellent health monitoring characteristics, but the company is already working on future updates, including a temperature sensor that could detect what you are trying to measure when it touches it.
A new unearthed patent by 91mobiles reveals that the company is developing a new type of temperature sensor that would rest on the internal side of the ring, and could be used to take the temperature of several surfaces, at least, determining when it is holding something that is affecting the reading temperature reading, such as hot coffee.
The Galaxy ring already has a built -in temperature sensor to measure body internal temperature, a useful feature that helps enhance the menstrual cycle predictions. However, this new patent reveals an external probe that could be useful for measuring other things.
According to the patent, a movement sensor could detect movement and help establish what you are trying to measure. Based on how it has moved, the ring can identify what you are trying to measure and, according to the reports, you can distinguish between the temperature of your own skin and the temperature of another person or an object. The patent also includes visual, audio or tactile alerts that could notify an abnormal reading.
What could mean Samsung’s new smart ring patent?
A couple of patent images indicate some use cases. In particular, it shows an intelligent ring pressed against a cup of coffee, possibly indicating that it could use a future galaxy ring to verify the temperature of a drink to make sure it is safe to drink (or still warm enough to be worth drinking).
In other places, the images reveal the ring pressed on the forehead of a child, showing that the characteristic could be used to take temperature readings to verify fever in young children.
It is a very novel idea and that is surely years away, but also suggests the future inclusion of haptic comments in the galaxies ring, or maybe even a screen.
The company has also patented intelligent gestures in a ring that would allow it to control its laptop or tablet like Tony Stark, as well as technology for an adjustable internal band that would eliminate size problems.
As noted, these are just patents, so do not expect any of these to appear in the Galaxy Ring 2, which could be launched as soon as this year.
