Pakistan urges us to claim weapons that remain in Afghanistan to restore regional peace

The Pakistan Foreign Ministry has highlighted the ongoing security challenges in the region, asking the United States to claim the weapons left in Afghanistan during the withdrawal.

According to spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan, the presence of these weapons in Afghanistan has become an important problem for regional peace and stability, said Express News.

He mentioned that Pakistan wants good neighboring relations with Afghanistan, but the Afghan territory is being used for terrorism against Pakistan, and the country has repeatedly urged the Afghan government to address this problem.

Shafqat Ali Khan added that Torkham’s border has closed due to the Afghan forces that build posts in dispute areas. Pakistan condemns the riots on the border of Torkham and asks the Afghan interim government to resolve this matter seriously.

He also shared that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had received a call from the United States National Security Advisor, who praised Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and thanked President Trump for his support. The Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also congratulated the National Security Advisor for assuming his position.

Shafqat Ali Khan mentioned that the United States National Security Advisor reaffirmed the commitment to continue cooperation with Pakistan. He also appreciated the announcement of President Trump to recover the military team that remains in Afghanistan.

Eau’s counterpart call:

The spokesman reported that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also received a call from his Eau counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, who congratulated the leadership and people of Pakistan on the occasion of Ramadan.

The two parties appreciated the positive results of the visit of the heir prince of the EAU to Pakistan, and discussions were maintained to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in several sectors.

Participation in the OIC Conference:

Shafqat Ali Khan also declared that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, will visit Saudi Arabia to participate in the next OIC meeting in Jeddah. During the conference, he will address the issue of Palestinian law to self -determination.

He revealed that Ishaq will present Pakistan’s position on the deterioration of the situation in Palestine and Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, along with the discussion of the humanitarian crisis that arises from the conflict.

Shafqat Ali Khan said the discussions would include the illegal and unusual proposals to move to the Palestinians of their homeland. The conference will reaffirm the unwavering support of Pakistan for the Palestinian people.

Condemnation of Israeli restrictions:

Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s restrictions to Gaza during the sacred month of Ramadan.

The spokesman declared that Gaza’s people should be able to offer prayers in the mosques during Ramadan. Pakistan also condemns Israel’s decision to block the entry of essential aid in Gaza.
