“We extend our gratitude to the Pakistan government for its association to take Mohammad Sharifullah to justice,” he said, emphasizing that the arrest underlines the vital nature of continuous collaboration in the fight against terrorism.

It is believed that Sharifullah has played an important role in the suicide bombing of 2021 at Kabul’s Abbey Gate during the withdrawal of the American army of Afghanistan, an attack that killed more than 170 Afghan and 13 US military.

The United States Department of Justice revealed that Sharifullah had confessed to exploring the airport route before the bomb was shot, in the middle of a crowd that tried to flee Kabul after the acquisition of the Taliban.
