The Tar Heels of North Carolina are ready for a new exciting era of football with Bill Belichick to the helm in the first university season of his illustrious career.
But a new report says that Belichick, the eight -time Super Bowl champion, six of whom arrived as chief coach of the New England patriots, was not the first option of UNC.
ESPN reports that Arthur Smith, the offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was whom the Tar Heels wanted to take advantage of more as the man to take care of his program.

However, Smith chose to stay in the NFL, where he had a failed period as coach of the Atlanta Falcons. In turn, the Tar Heels went to Belichick, and the movement surprised the whole world of football when he accepted the work.

Smith played for UNC from 2001 to 2005, and after they finished their game days, he became a postgraduate assistant in 2006.
