The leader VPN firm, Expressvpn, has just published its greatest update of its Linux application, promising to offer a user -centered experience with improved usability and safety in its nucleus.
The new ExpressvPN Linux application finally presents the User Graphical Interface (GUI), which means that users will be able to interact with the same easy -to -use interface used on other platforms. The update also includes some new features such as an advanced murder switch, divided tunnels and more.
Linux’s new VPN application is currently available only for beta tests and is compatible with Ubuntu 24.04+, Debian10, Fedora30, Raspberry Pi Os Buster, Mint 20 and Arch. If you want to continue using the application of command line interface (CLI), it can still benefit from the updated version and its new advanced functions.
More customization and security, with an intuitive interface
ExpressvPN is one of the best VPN suppliers in the market, known for its applications full of characteristics and easy to use. The update occurs in response to the popularity of Linux products and the need for high quality VPN solutions.
“We recognized that the rapidly growing Linux community needed a powerful and intuitive VPN experience and worked immediately,” said Himmat Bains, head of ExpressvPN desktop applications.
This is where the New Gui enters. The improved interface, which is available in light and dark modes in 17 languages, allows users to take control of their digital life in just a few clicks.
However, as Bains points out, the Gui is only one part of the update. He said: “The new application integrates a lot of advanced features that allow users to adapt their digital security experience, for greater control and privacy while benefiting from the ease of use by which expressvpn is known.”
For the first time, in fact, Linux users can also benefit from a divided tunnel function to select specific applications or IP to enrut it through the VPN or avoid it. An advanced murder switching option (here called network block) also allows them to avoid Internet access at all times unless the VPN is connected.
Other security features that come with the new Linux application of ExpressvPN also include encryption after the quantum, along with some advanced protection features to block intrusive ads, web tracers, malicious websites and adult content.
As with other platforms, the Linux application also comes with an option of VPN protocol options that include OpenVPN and the ExpressvPN Lightway route. Users can also choose between servers in 105 countries worldwide.
As mentioned earlier, ExpressvPN will continue to admit cli users, also, extending many of the same updates also for its new version of Linux Cli. The supplier suggests uninstalling its Expressvpn Linux application (V3 and more) before installing the new Linux (V4) application to avoid any problem.
The new Linux of ExpressvPN application is now available to download in Beta from the Expressvpn website.
In general, Bains said: “In ExpressvPN, our users have always been the driving force behind our innovations. Our main Linux improvements are just an example and reinforce our mission of making the protection of solid privacy accessible to all.”
