Rawalpindi:

The Rawalpindi National Responsibility Office (NAB) has presented a corruption reference worth RS998.86 million against the widow of the former division vice president of the Peoples Party of Pakistan (PPP) Haji Gulzar Awan.

The late leader of the PPP, who died four years ago, had previously founded the Pakistan Aman’s game, which later merged in PPP.

NAB accused his widow, Azra Gulzar Awan, of being involved in a housing scheme scam along with his late husband.

According to the investigation, the couple attracted citizens to buy low -cost plots in two housing societies, supposedly pushing millions in the process.

Several plaintiffs, including Amir Mukhtan and others, presented requests against them, which led NAB to take action.

The corruption reference was presented in a court of responsibility in Rawalpindi, and the scrutiny is scheduled for Monday.

After this, the case will be presented to Judge Muhammad Akmal Khan, and a citation is expected to be issued.

Azra Gulzar Awan, however, has denied the accusations, claiming that she had no participation in her husband’s businesses.

“I am a housewife. I never interfere in my husband’s affairs, I did not visit any office or treatment with land transactions. I am being falsely involved,” he said. She also questioned the moment of the case, noting that years have passed since the death of her husband, and only now has this supposed corruption come to light.
