The athlete of Dutch women, Maureen Koster, was unconscious when she fell during the 3000m female in the European Interior Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, Sunday.
The 32 -year -old athlete was treated by medical staff and then transported to a local hospital.
Koster was in front of Innes Fitzgerald of Great Britain and behind Hannah Nuttall when the fall occurred. Nuttall was temporarily pushed from the track and Fitzgerald had to run around Koster.

“I just saw her on the floor in front of me. I thought I had to surround her and, hopefully, I was not surprised,” Fitzgerald said after the race. “I did not want to affect my career plan. It was detention to have its fall, especially in front of a local crowd. I hope it is well. Very sad to fall.”

The Netherlands team then published in X that Koster was conscious and receptive.
Koster’s friend and competitive companion, Great British Rone Melissa Courtney-Bryant, who finished the event with Silver, said the incident was “Carnage.”

“I heard Maureen scream,” said Courtney Bryant. “I know her very well because we used to train together and room in the Diamond League. Then I saw a leg while running, and I knew it was her shoe. He put everyone on the limit, and everyone was pressing more. He was just trying to keep up, because you didn’t want to finish so well. It was the butcher shop.”
Sarah Healy of Ireland won the gold after the fall of Koster.
