The creator of Chinese PC GMKTEC is preparing to launch the EVO-X2, a compact system but powerful with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor of AMD.
According to GMKTEC, the device presents 16 Zen 5 cores and Radeon 8060s graphics with 40 RDNA 3.5 computer units, positioning it as strong in AI, computing, games and professional workload tools.
A GMKTEC spokesman told Techradar Pro that Evo X2 will be launched in May 2025, with prices still to be confirmed. However, its positioning suggests that it will rival Apple’s Mac Studio with the Ultra M3 as one of the most capable mini PC to date.
GMKTEC sets MINI PC views driven by AI PC Domain
Previously, the company announced plans for a MINI PC based in Strix Halo, but provided little details at that time. With competitors such as HP Zbook and Framework Desktop adopting Strix Halo, GMKTEC seems to accelerate its road map to keep the avant -garde in the Mini PC market driven by AI.
The company states that the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 can offer an AI calculation performance up to 2.75 times faster than NVIDIA RTX 5090. In addition, the Mini PC will admit a 140 W TDP, which suggests an approach to high performance computing, 4K games and training of the AI model.
If these statements are maintained, the EVO-X2 could redefine the expectations of Mini PC with AI enables, offering a convincing alternative to traditional desktop work stations.
Although GMKTEC has not yet revealed the final details of the design, the reports indicate that EVO-X2 will maintain the compact footprint of its predecessor, the EVO-X1, which was one of the smallest mini PCs based on Strix Point based on available TDP.
