- Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has suggested that an important review of iOS is on its way with iOS 19
- The visos could serve as inspiration for the next Apple mobile operating system
- A new software look could go hand in hand with rumored hardware changes
We have heard a lot about the rumored hardware updates for the family of the iPhone 17, which is supposedly due to at the end of this year, but a new most considered Apple manipulator report in the industry suggests that the next Apple phones will also mark the beginning of a great software renewal.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that iOS 19 will represent “one of the most dramatic software reviews” in history not only of iOS, but also Apple as a company. The last time IOS saw a truly massive change in the form and the function was with iOS 7, released in 2013, even today, many of the applications and interface elements found in iOS 18 are based on their versions of iOS 7.
In terms of new functionality, iOS 19 could bring a re -cast chamber application and (finally) a more powerful Siri, but we are still quite light in the advice on other characteristics. Next, we have gathered a summary of the main rumors so far, as well as some things that I would like to see of the next Apple mobile operating system.
A revised design
As mentioned, it is rumored that iOS 19 provides a total visual review to the Apple mobile operating system, which we have not seen in more than a decade.
Gurman’s report for Bloomberg suggests that iOS 19 will bring a visual update similar to iOS 7, with an important update of the “style of icons, menus, applications, windows and system buttons” in the entire experience of the iPhone.
In addition, the Bloomberg report suggests that the new interface could be inspired by the visos, which could mean anything, from complete circular icons to more subtle adjustments and overlays of user interface and menus.
However, a large part of Apple’s success as a brand depends on familiarity, so it is likely that iOS 19 at least look like the versions of iOS from previous years; For example, we would not expect to see the configuration application loses its motion icon.
This software review can be in conjunction with a reworked physical design; It is rumored that the iPhone 17 family brings a new aspect of hardware to the iPhone 17 PRO, iPhone 17 Pro Max and New iPhone 17 Air.
A new camera application
The first important suggestion of an iOS 19 redesign came with rumors of a new camera application, which could use an open and quiet design reminiscent of the visos.
As we reported earlier, an alleged escape from iOS 19 hinted at the design of the application of the new camera earlier this year, with a handful of mocked screenshots to do so.
In these screenshots, the shutter button seems to float freely on the bottom of the screen, with keys available below it instead of covering at the top of the screen.
The buttons are all circular or rounded, and there seems to be not many of them. In general, the new design looks quite elegant. Even so, but, of course, this is just a leak, and it may not reflect the final aspect of the application of the camera.
An improved Siri
IOS 19 is also inclined to bring improvements to Apple digital assistant, Siri.
Previously we expected Siri to get some Apple intelligence flavor updates through half -year updates to iOS 18, but now it seems more likely that Siri obtains an adequate update during the life cycle of iOS 19.
9TO5MAC points out that Apple could gather the two separate systems that currently drive Siri in one, offering a more conversational and efficient experience. Currently, Siri uses chatgpt, but it is suggested that Apple prefers not to trust the AI of third parties.
However, Gurman predicts that iOS 19 will not bring important intelligence characteristics of Apple, so we could be waiting to the subsequent versions of iOS 19 to obtain a patented AI.
iOS 19: What I want to see
Personally, I am a gentle and reliable interface fan that Apple has created over the years. After softening the acute images of iOS 7 and add modernized characteristics expanded with each iteration, iOS 18 looks and feels excellent in most situations.
However, there are some things that I would like to see from the next version of iOS.
If a new aquatic user interface is on the way, it could be an opportunity for Apple to allow greater fluidity to navigate through that user interface. I am a great admirer of the sliding navigation found in most of the best Android phones, and always find that the lack of a universal gesture of “back” is a real loss when I return to the iPhone.
I would also like to see Apple go further with customization. IOS 18 Finally gave us the ability to move icons around the home screen and reclaim them so that they adjust with a specific wallpaper or theme (here is how to customize your iPhone’s home screen on iOS 18 if you have not yet done so), but again, Android has advanced for years in this department.
Live wallpapers offered by Xiaomi or OnePlus could serve as a valuable inspiration, and greater control over the size of widgets in an aesthetic inspired in visosses would make a lot of sense.
Said all this, I am supporting any possible shake. From the point of view of hardware and software, phone design can be quite homogeneous, so it is good to know that Apple could be willing to take risks. In any case, let us know what you want to see from iOS 19 in the comments below.
