- Google seems to be working to facilitate the use of an external screen with your Android phone
- Currently, changing visualization configuration requires an immersion in the configuration application
- Google has not issued an official launch or confirmation date of the new function
Android 16 could carry a Samsung Dex -style desktop mode to more than the best Android phones, according to the code not yet related.
As Android Authority reports, Google is apparently working on new external visualization tools for Android 16 that should make the use of your phone with an external monitor much more accessible.
This was discovered manually enabling the unpublished code in Android 16 Beta 2.1.
Currently, Android 15 offers a limited number of developer settings that allow users to adjust their external monitor experience, although these changes are not in real time and are still more restrictive than a laptop or some tablets can offer.
For example, the current implementation on Google Pixel phones only allows the mouse to appear on one screen at the same time, and does not allow real -time change between the mirror and the extension of the screen.
And as GSMARENA points out, plug an Android phone to an external monitor currently is the value of screen reflexes, and the option to change this is stacked in the external visualization configuration.
It seems that Google is working to facilitate the use of external monitors; These changes include allowing the mouse to travel through several screens and add the ability to exchange between the screen reflex and extend the screen with a simple lever.
Also in the cards there is the ability to reorganize the position of the external screens and change the scale of icons and text on the external screen, both features offered by desk operating systems such as Windows and Macos.
These new tools could insinuate an ambition to transform Android into a viable desk operating system. Some Android tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, already offer an experience comparable to most laptops when combined with a keyboard and a mouse, so this does not feel too far away.
On the other hand, Google could be looking to give users more options when it comes to using their Android phone.
In any case, we will monitor this through our dedicated Android phone coverage. Would you use your phone as a desktop replacement? Do you use external screens with your phone already? Be sure to inform us in the comments below.
