Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, condemned on Thursday to Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) for spreading a “false narrative” with respect to the recent terrorist attack against Jaffar Express.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Asif accused PTI’s social networks of misrepresenting the tragic incident and undermine the national unit by promoting erroneous information.

Asif expressed sadness for the loss of innocent lives in the attack and criticized PTI for misunderstanding the situation. He specifically pointed out how the accounts of social networks affiliated with PTI falsely affirmed that the terrorists had released the hostages, instead of recognizing the sacrifices made by the armed forces in the rescue operation.

He also accused PTI leaders who live abroad to continue criticizing national institutions while avoiding responsibility.

The Minister of Defense referred to PTI leaders as products of previous military regimes, pointing out their support for martial law and constitutional violations in the past.

Khawaja Asif admitted that his party had also supported a military regime in the past, but emphasized that they had the decency to recognize their past mistakes. He urged all political leaders to learn from historical failures to advance in the country.

Asif condemned PTI attempts to politicize terrorism and national security, emphasizing that politics should not occur before Pakistan’s integrity.

He called on leaders to set aside personal interests and recognize the sacrifices of the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

The statement occurs after the security forces carried out a two -day operation to neutralize the terrorists who had kidnapped the Jaffar Express.

The test began on Tuesday when the separatist militants ambushed the Jaffar Express en Quetta’s route to Peshawar, exploiting the railroad track and attacking the train with rockets.
