- An Indian technology retailer offers three RTX 5080 in MSRP to “winners”
- The RTX 5080 model in question is above the MSRP established by NVIDIA
- The world availability of the entire RTX 50 series is still in a gloomy place
Indian technology retailer EliteHubs is organizing competition on social networks where three fortunate winners can … win the right to buy an RTX 5080 for MSRP. Instead of giving a pair of high -end Blackwell cards, the promotion offers a selection of three colorful models RTX 5080 Ultra OC without price increase.
The Instagram video describes the three necessary steps to participate in this RTX 5080 competition. You must go to the website, click on the collaboration banner and complete the details. If selected, you will have the opportunity to “win” an RTX 5080 for RS.1,10,000 (approximately $ 1,260 / £ 980). Tickets end on March 15, 2025, and the results were published during the weekend in a live broadcast on the same account.
Unlike many other countries in the world, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, India does not seem to be suffering the same problems of RTX 5080.
As a reference frame, the RTX 5080 graphic card available in EliteHubs at this time is the Zotac Gaming RTX 5080 Solid for RS. 144,999 (around $ 1,700 / £ 1,300), which in itself is ruled out from an anterior list price of RS. 179,450 (around $ 2,000 / £ 1,600) with two remaining units at this price. That means that the three colorful models are 38% cheaper when they go to MSRP, than in the US. It is $ 999 and £ 939 in the United Kingdom.
It is also important to keep in mind that the three colorful RTX 5080 ultra models do not sell in themselves for the NVIDIA MSRP for the high -end Blackwell GPU, but the real retail price of the AIB. It is common for manufacturers to have high -end graphics card versions, especially if they have a particular, cooler color or overclocking functionality, but see only three available (and with a premium) is far from ideal.
The other 37 options of existence reflect what we have seen worldwide with RTX 5080 Stock Waning. Some cards were available with the price of the Nvidia label that was not available (probably) was not available in the seconds of the publication. It is a serious state for almost all, and it is not surprising that this promotional video (and the promise of MSRP) has become one of the most committed publications of the company in recent memory.
RTX 50 series shares problems persist months after launch
Few expected an abundant supply of RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards when they launched on January 30, 2025, but it is safe to say that no one could have anticipated how limited they would be. Things are comparable when the RTX 30 series “launched” at the end of 2020, a launch that was tarnished by a non-existent stock due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic that causes the scarcity of semiconductors and the rise of the miners of the cryptocurrency era.
The RTX 40 series was much more available, with all the alignment that was quite easy to buy and use throughout its useful life. It is discouraging, then, seeing the RTX 50 series with its four current graphics cards so scarce for possible buyers. It is this absurd that has seen some retailers to make competits only for a small opportunity to buy a card for what it really costs, instead of with a discount or gifted for free.
