- AMD has described its RDNA 4 launch as “unprecedented”
- Demand has significantly overcome supply
- The company has promised refueling as “number one priority”
AMD has described its RDNA 4 graphics launch as “unprecedented” in a new interview, promising that the refueling of the current two GPUs are “number one priority.”
In a one -hour video interview with David McAFEE of AMD, corporate vice president and general manager through Hothardware, the company made clear its mission statement: “The most important thing we are honestly doing is to increase the supply of NAVI 48, very aggressively part of the products of “” products.
Despite the promising “wide availability” during the announcement of the RDNA 4 hardware at the end of February, the actions of RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT have been fleeting since the first day they reached the shelves. The current actions are dry in the US, generally reserved for only packages, and the options available in the United Kingdom may be well above the aggressive price of the Label established by AMD, something that some retailers claim to be “limited time.”
“We want to make sure that users can buy cards at the prices they expect to see in the market” McAFee adds later in the interview, “we are doing everything we can for that to happen” for “retailers and our meeting partners are doing their part to help ensure that there is a lot of offer at those prices.”
AMD did not produce a reference model or for RX 9070 or RX 9070 XT, which means that the design, characteristics and price (to some extent) could be dictated by third -party AIB models. As such, it is found in the company’s partners to increase production to meet demand in “ensuring that they have all the components they need to build the largest variety of cards that can”.
While the current RDNA 4 hardware offers are firmly located in the average range market, with respective MSRP of $ 549 and $ 599, respectively (being approximately at the same time with the RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 TI), Mcafee said that AMD can still try to compete to the upper end as well.
“We certainly have aspirations to cover the entire range of games of games that are in the market, and maybe we will get there.” It is not clear if this comment refers to a possible high -end RA 4 card or if RDNA 5 will offer RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 rivals in the future.
A commitment to consumer demand
We have impressed the current RDNA 4 alignment since it was launched earlier this month, citing the performance close to RTX 4080 of RX 9070 XT for the low price of $ 599 as a particular culminating point. This cannot say anything about FSR 4, the latest version of extension and frame generation technology, which is now fed by AI, being a step closer to quality, softness and performance for the DLS in constant evolution of NVIDIA.
Given the great performance price offered by both ARD graphics cards, it is not surprising to see that its availability has been limited (apparently) far beyond AMD’s expectations, hence the shortage.
Traditionally, Team Red has played the second violin behind Team Green, but the aggressive price (and the powerful performance) of its latest letters have meant that it is occupying a niche in the middle range space that PC players can support. This is especially true given the mediocre RTX 5070, which we gave a 3 -star writing.
A little over a week has passed since RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT went on sale, and have been difficult to find since then, selling in minutes of the main retailers in regions such as the United States and the United Kingdom.
AMD’s promise to replenish and support its partners as AIB production increases is an encouraging movement. We hope that AMD will remain in your word and that more PC players can see what is possible with a GPU below $ 600, while your main competitor is more concerned with overcoming the performance limits (and prices) in the other direction.
