Sadiq rebukes PTI for his ‘double ratings’

Islamabad:

The president of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has rebuked the opposition parties, mainly the PTI, for their supposed double scratches, saying that they are taking advantage of advantages and privileges of the same Parliament that they call “false.”

“I ask if you are justified to simultaneously withdraw salaries and keep key offices in the lower and higher houses of Parliament while calling it false,” Sadiq said on Friday during his media interaction at the launch ceremony of the tree planting, the Mogol garden in the house of Parliament.

The speaker said that opposition legislators enter the assembly to protest and neglect public importance problems.

Sadiq also revealed that the opposition has not yet proposed any name for the new election commissioner (CEC). “Despite the official correspondence of the Secretariat of the National Assembly on February 19, 2025, the opposition so far has not nominated names for the CEC,” he said.

While arguing the current events in the Assembly, the speaker accused the opposition leader, Omar Ayub, of deceptive people, saying that he speaks extensively on the floor of the house and then tells the media that he was not given the opportunity to speak.

The speaker Sadiq revealed that the opposition leader delivered a speech that lasted an hour and 21 minutes during the current session, but after the speech, he left and told the media that he did not have the opportunity to speak. “This is not a contradiction,” he questioned.
