- Older chromecast devices have been broken for days
- Google says that a solution is now being implemented to users
- But the new problems are now affecting the chromecast with Google TV
It has been a fairly frustrating week for the owners of an audio Chromecast or Chromecast of second generation, but a solution for the error that has made these devices do not work is now being implemented, as new problems appear for the new Chromecast with Google TV.
In a publication in the official forums of the Nest community (through The Verge), Google says: “We have begun to implement a solution for the problem with Chromecast audio devices (2nd gen) and Chromecast, which will be completed in the coming days.”
You do not need to do anything to get the patch: Google only says that your device must be connected to apply the update. The problems began to appear for the first time on Monday, so at least some users can resume their broadcast on time for the weekend.
However, if he made factory restoration in his chromecto to try to solve it, a perfectly sensible approach must sit. Google says that these devices will not obtain the automatic update, and that it will provide more instructions “as soon as possible.”
Chromecast with Google TV
With the perfect moment, the owners of the new Chromecast device with Google TV, not affected by the other problems, now inform their own problems. These problems seem to be related to an Android 14 update that was implemented yesterday.
According to 9to5google, there are numerous errors reports, including problems with external USB devices connected to the dongle, change the color profile, the disappearance configuration and the unit that does not generate any sound.
See one of Reddit’s threads on the update, and you will see that these problems are not affecting everyone, and some are resolved with a restart. However, it is not a good look for Google as it is solving the problems in its other Chromecast devices.
If you have a chromecast affected with Google TV, see if a reset or a factory restart solves the problems you are seeing. Google has not yet commented on the last lot of problems, but we will inform you if there is an official response.
