This week has been a roller coaster in the world of technology. Twitter closed thanks to its greatest interruption in years, giving us all a moment of peace, Google released the robots with Gemini infusion, which feels like the beginning of a robot revolution, and we tried the new MacBook and Apple’s iPad Air.
To catch up with all that and more, move down through us in case you have lost it and put up with the seven largest technological news of the week.
Once you are caught in the news of the week, watch our selections for the 7 new films and television programs to broadcast this weekend (March 14).
X had its greatest interruption in years
The social networks giant previously known as Twitter has had a tumultuous years, but even compared to Elon Musk’s acquisition in 2022, this week was turbulent. X was discarded completely several times on Monday, and Musk then said that this was due to a “mass cyber attack.”
Since X is attacked “every day”, according to Musk, this huge interruption was explained by the culprit that had “many resources.” It is inevitable to point out with the finger and many people who discover what DDOS represents (spoiler of their trivia questionnaire, is ‘distributed denial of the service’). X has returned to his former self now with his characteristic mixture of memes and outrage, but he could not spend much time before his next great interruption.
We saw Sony’s next generation television technology in Action
Oled is generally considered the best performance television technology, and for a good reason, since OLED televisions offer perfectly uniform images with “infinite” and rich color contrast. OLED’s primacy has become unanswered, but a new RGB LED backlight technology for TVs that Sony has just announced could make televisions led by Mini competitive.
The “Sony next generation visualization system” replaces the quantum points used for televisions led by high -end mini with a “high density LED background light” with individual control over red, green and blue colors. Its benefits include high brightness, extended and contrast in the form of OLED, and Sony also states that it can be profitable to screen larger than OLED televisions, which reach 97 inches.
Television manufacturers regularly broadcast ads that hit the chest of the new technology in development, but in this case, Techradar was invited to Sony’s headquarters for a preview, and is as good as they affirm. Look your back, OLED!
We review the new macbooks and iPads
Apple recently launched a new technology and we had the opportunity to try everything. In a nutshell, everything is great.
The iPad air with M3 obtained four and a half stars thanks to its new chipset that offers a solid power impulse without a price increase. The screen is as vibrant as ever, the battery life and audio are excellent, and thanks to the support of the new magic keyboard, it is more like never. Our only complaint is that the new Apple slate is too similar to last year’s model in the camera and screen department, with only a couple of 12MP (one in front of each address) and a screen that lacks soft promotion update rates that will only get in more premium models.
As for the new MacBook Airs with M4, they surprised us once again, since they not only have excellent performance, helped by the updated chipset they have just received, but are less expensive to start. Instead of $ 1,299 / £ 1,399 / AU $ 2,199, you can collect the laptop for $ 1,199 / £ 1,199 / AU $ 2.099 cementing this elegant machine as one of the laptops of best value for the market.
Irobot replaced almost his entire red
This week we knew that Irobot was discarding almost his entire range of robot robot vacuum cleaners and replacing them with four new bright models. It is a bold movement, but it feels necessary as far as the brand was beginning to pass behind the competitors.
The new features include Lidar navigation (finally), spinning trap pads, a great design aesthetic and a name system that actually has some kind of meaning. Perhaps the most interesting model is the 205 Roomba, which has a on -board container that compacts the dust, and looks perfect for those with small houses that have no room for a voluminous spring.
They may not be the most striking innovations we have seen in the market of recent times, but we believe that Irobot has nailed what customers are really looking for a robot vacuum. We hope you can help the original robovac brand to reach competition.
Ray-Ban’s new intelligent glasses disappointed us
Meta launched the new Smart Ray-Ban glasses this week, well, launched a new glasses design, which are available for a limited time in collaboration with the Coperni fashion brand.
They are undeniably elegant with a translucent black frame (which allows you to see your internal work) and reflected lenses, but beyond the Coperni logo printed at the end of each arm, there is nothing particularly special in this limited career. What is more not only these specifications are more limited than the drop in the previous transparent frame: only 3,600 COPERNI smart glasses are available instead of 7,500 as before, they are also more expensive.
The finish goggles usually start at $ 299 / £ 299 / AU $ 449, and its last limited fall was $ 429 / £ 429 (it was not available in Australia). These Coperni specifications are sold for $ 549 / £ 519 / AU $ 859. Some commentators about the original story love design, but for us it is not enough to justify the exaggeration and cost of the first collaboration of intelligent goals of Meta and Ray-Ban.
Disney+ is making Andor free to transmit on YouTube

Attend
Did you miss seeing what has been considered the best Star Wars program ever done? Well, you don’t have to worry about having Fomo because Disney has decided to publish the first three episodes of Andor On free YouTube.
He has also made the whole first season of one of the best Disney+ shows available in Hulu in the United States before the long -awaited premiere of Andor Season 2 on April 22, giving subscribers that are not Disney+ even more ways to participate in the action.
That is an intelligent movement to hook more fans in the program and if it has become one of them (welcome), then it will certainly want to take advantage of this great transmission agreement that reduces the cost of Disney+ and Hulu back to its incredible price of Black Friday. Go to the rebels!
Google Gemini has just had physicist
Google Gemini is one of the most powerful AI platforms, but until this week, it was mainly text, images and did not connect directly to the physical world. That changes with Gemini Robotics and his counterpart, Gemini Robotics-Er (incarnate reasoning). Together, these platforms will connect the points between the powerful Gemini models and robots.
The long -term objective is that humanoid robots that execute Gemini models (many important robots companies, such as Boston Dynamics, are already on board) to help them interact with the real world, and especially unknown situations. Our personal favorite was a pair of robot arms that quickly discovered how to hit a toy basketball without any specific training. The race towards our robot revolution is accelerating.
