Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has put the stone of the Foundation of the University of Daanish, a project worth £ 190 million (RS 60 billion).
Going to the inauguration ceremony in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to the president of the Supreme Court Yahya Afridi and the former president of the Supreme Court Qazi Faeze Isa for facilitating the transfer of £ 190 million to the National Treasury.
The funds, which will be used to establish the university team, were returned to Pakistan by the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom, followed by a subsequent transfer of the Supreme Court to the Federal Government account.
The amount is related to the case of £ 190 in which the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to 14 years and seven years for their participation in the trust scandal Khan rum.
It was decided that the money would be presented to the SC in the name of the entrepreneur in question, however, Al-Qadir Trust was established a few weeks later after an agreement, allegedly destined to provide legal coverage to the black money received from the NCA, with the Property Magnate.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said that the students of the four provinces would have access to higher education at the university, with free education for disadvantaged children.
The prime minister emphasized that the Daanish University would be established as a global institution with top -level professors, research centers and academic excellence. The first section of the University is expected to work in operation before August 14, 2026.
By pointing out that students from all over the country would enroll in different faculties of the University for merit, the prime minister said that a trust would be created and initially, the government would provide RS10 billion as seed money and then, it would extend due to the amount collected from the rates of rich students, while poor students would be assisted.
Revealing that the names of the Board of Governors of the University of Daanish had ended so that the brilliant minds could contribute, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the government would not be related to its functions and administration, since it would work autonomously.
Ahsan Iqbal Planning Minister stressed that the project was funded by public money, from which the previous government had allegedly deprived of the Nation.
The University of Daanish, said IQBAL, would be the next level at which they would prepare the workforce for the industrial revolution and present the necessary facilities to teach education in AI, Bio-Technology, Robotics, Space Sciences and other emerging technologies through applied research to create a platform to fill the gap between the academy and industries.
The minister also pointed out that the government would also seek global associations for the transfer of technology and to ensure that this institution provides technology leaders, innovatives and businessmen.
