JJ Spaun was looking for his second victory in the race at the PGA Tour when he took a step forward for his putt in hole 18 during a wild final round in the players championship on a Sunday full of rain.
A couple of rotations in his putt, and he would have won everything.
Instead, he faced Rory Mcilroy for a three -hole playoff to determine the winner of this signature tournament.

Mcilroy and Spaun are 12 under their final rounds on Sunday, a long day that saw a four -hour rain delay.
The round was forced to be delayed due to the weather and ray in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, which was expected taking into account that the tournament rose Tee’s times to avoid a potential extension to Monday.
However, it was inevitable with the scope of the delay, from 1:15 pm to 5:15 pm, and how the golfers ended up finishing their final rounds.

It started on the 2 in OVER before Birdying Hole 9 to publish a 37 in the nine front holes. But he Bogey in 12, forcing that 2 on the score card before finally seeing some golf shots on his way.

Spaun would be Birdie Holes 14 and 16 to return to 12 bass for the tournament, addressing the iconic TPC Sawgrass Island Green on 17. However, its exit blow was reached conservative in the middle of the green instead of looking for the placement of the right pin of the firm on Sunday.
Spaun put two and would get his pair, understanding his destiny could be sealed in one way or another in hole 18.

With a couple of Tap, the playoff set for Monday, and will be holes 16, 17 and 18 to determine the winner of this year’s players championship.
It is a David vs. Goliath in terms of PGA Tour races, since Mcilroy has 27 tour victories for Spaun.
