PM Shehbaz to embark on the Saudi visit tomorrow

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make an official visit to Saudi Arabia from March 19 to 22, with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties, promoting economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities.

Accompanied by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, as well as to key federal ministers and senior officials, the prime minister will meet with the Saudi heir prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman to discuss improved trade, deepen associations in key sectors and facilitate greater economic collaboration.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions will cover global and regional issues, including Gaza’s situation, evolving dynamics in the Middle East and the concerns of the Muslim UMMAh.

The visit is expected to reinforce historical ties between the two nations and increase diplomatic coordination in bilateral, regional and global matters.

Prime Minister Shehbaz visited the kingdom for the last time in December last year, where he addressed the ‘Summit of One Water’ and proposed a six -point global agenda to address water -related challenges.

During his speech, Sharif also highlighted the severe difficulties induced by climate change faced by developing countries, emphasizing the need for collaborative solutions to guarantee sustainable water management worldwide.

Apart from the summit, the prime minister met with the Saudi heir prince Mohammed Bin Salman. The two leaders discussed ways of bringing a qualitative change in their bilateral relationship and expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the MOU and the agreements signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In addition to his meeting with Saudi leadership, Prime Minister Sharif held conversations with French president Emmanuel Macron.

The two leaders agreed to improve the cooperation of company to company in key sectors, including agriculture, livestock, information technology, vocational training and access to drinking water.
