The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a statement on the availability of new foreign exchange tickets for the next Eidul Fitr.
The SBP confirmed that commercial banks have already begun to distribute new tickets to the public in preparation for vacations.
In his statement, the SBP mentioned that it is working to ensure easy access to new notes for citizens through the extensive network of bank branches throughout the country.
To date, new notes for RS27 billion have been supplied at 17,000 branches of commercial banks during the current month of Ramadan.
In addition, the SBP said that ATMs throughout the country would dispense new clean and standard bills throughout the religious festival. Cash monitoring equipment has been implemented to ensure that these notes are available.
Commercial banks will continue to provide new tickets in their branches to ensure availability without problems for the public for EID.
On the other hand, Eidul Fitr 2025 is expected to bring an extended vacation period in Pakistan, and many anticipate a break from March 29 to April 6, 2025.
The Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, prayer and reflection, concludes with Eidul Fitr, an important religious festival observed the first day of Shawwal.
The exact date of EID is determined by the sighting of the Moon Crescent Shawwal, following the Islamic tradition.
According to the Ruet-E-Hilal Research Council, Eidul Fitr in 2025 is likely to be observed on March 31. Experts predict that the crescent moon will be visible in most Pakistan parts on the night of March 30, since it is expected to be more than 26 hours of age, fulfilling the criteria for visibility.
The Pakistani are hopeful of a longer vacation this year, since the first three days of Eidigan will be expected from Monday to Wednesday, aligning over the weekend. It is speculated that the government can announce an official five -day holiday from April 29 to 2.
If additional license is granted on Thursdays and Fridays, the holiday period could be extended to nine days, from March 29 to April 6.
However, the final schedule will depend on the official announcement of sighting of the moon.
