Samsung has finally announced a release date for an UI 7, the next update of its Android -based mobile operating system.
A UI 7 has been in Beta for months, and a prior version is already available for users of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra, as well as the recent Galaxy A26, A36 and Galaxy A56 phones of Samsung.
However, users of the oldest phones of Samsung Galaxy, even the Galaxy S24 series last year, have been trapped with Beta versions of One UI 7.
It has been a completely messy deployment, but this announcement finally gives us a specific launch date: we had previously heard that the update would arrive in April.
Therefore, Samsung Galaxy users can rest quietly knowing when your phone will receive the Android 16 update, or it would seem.
The waiting game
In fact, the launch date supplied by Samsung only refers to the start of the deployment of the IU 7. While those used by the users of the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 series and will obtain the update on April 7, the oldest galaxy devices users have even more waiting later.
Samsung has not yet detailed the additional launch dates on its road map, although according to an official Samsung blog post, the next harvest of devices to receive an UI 7 includes the Galaxy S24 Fe, the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy S23 Fe, Galaxy Z FOLD 5 and Z Flip 5 series, the Galaxy Tab S10 series and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
The blog publication establishes that an UI 7 will “gradually” be launched to this expanded list of telephones and tablets, which does not make it look like Samsung is in a hurry.
