KP will release RS5.5b for police renewal

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s prime minister, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, ordered the Department of Finance for the Immediate Liberation of RS5.5 billion to meet several police needs in an attempt to strengthen and strengthen the police force in the province.

The CM of KP presided over an important meeting with respect to police issues in the Secretariat of the Principal Minister. The main secretary Shahab Ali Shah, the inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, the additional main secretary Muhammad Abid Majeed and senior officials of the Police and Finance Department attended the meeting.

According to the details, the meeting decided to immediately release RS3 billion for bulletproof police vehicles and the purchase of other modern equipment.

In addition, it was also decided to provide RS1.3 billion to establish special weapons and tactical equipment (SWAT) equipped with modern technology at the district level and to ensure police stations and verify publications.

In addition, RS5 billion would be launched for the remaining projects under the annual development program related to the construction of police stations and RS720 million for the purchase of night vision glasses, snipers and other teams for police force.

The CM of KP has decided in principle to bring the salaries of police officers and staff at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa along with the wages of their counterparts in other provinces.

During the informative session, it was reported that the salaries of police officers in Baluchistan are the highest among all provinces, while the salaries of police personnel in Punjab are higher than in any other province.

Ali Amin Gandpaur stressed that maintaining the law and order was the highest priority of the current provincial government. Given the current security situation in the province, it is crucial to strengthen the police force in all possible forms, he added.

The CM emphasized that the provincial government had been spending substantial resources to improve police capacities from day one, adding that the funds will continue to be provided priority to meet the needs of the police.

The prime minister said that equalizing the police force to address current security challenges was of the utmost importance, and there would be no commitment in the matter. He acknowledged the courage and sacrifices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s police force by fighting terrorism and expressed pride in his performance. He also made it clear that the provincial government would not allow financial limitations to impede compliance with police requirements.
