NFL news: Vikings currently do not pursue the four times MVP Aaron Rodgers: Report

The Minnesota Vikings are happy with JJ McCarthy like her titular field marshal amid Aaron Rodgers in free agency, for now.

According to the reports, the Vikings have rejected multiple commercial calls to McCarthy and are advancing with the 2024 first round selection as their titular field marshal, according to a NFL Network report on Wednesday.

The report also said that the Vikings plan to add a veteran field marshal with McCarthy, but do not chase Rodgers “at this time.”

With the Vakings currently not in search of Rodgers, New York giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers are seen as the two teams that could sign the four times MVP, if Rodgers chooses to play next season.

McCarthy blinked during the preseason last year, since it completed 11 of 17 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns and without interceptions. However, the 22 -year -old broke his meniscus in that preseason game and underwent surgery for the end of the season in August.

McCarthy’s injury left Sam Darnold when the unquestionable headline entered the season.

Darnold prospered when he took the team to a 14-3 record. He completed just over 66% of his passes for 4,319 yards with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Despite the incredible success Darnold had, his last two performances left much to be desired. In week 18, the Vikings played the Detroit Lions, with the NFC North title and the seed number 1 on the line. The Vikings lost, 31-9, and Darnold fought powerfully, completing only 18 of 41 passes for 166 yards.

That loss sent the Vikings to the Commodines game instead of the important goodbye of First Round, where they played Los Angeles Rams and lost 27-9. Darnold also fought in that game.

The 27 -year -old completed 25–40 passes for 245 yards while launching a touchdown and an interception. A whopping was fired nine times.

Perhaps those two games influenced the decision of the Vikings to let Darnold leave in the free agency, where he signed a three -year contract and $ 100.5 million with the Seattle Seahawks to replace Geno Smith as his sear of the titular field.

With Darnold out of the image, and the team currently does not pursue Rodgers, chief coach Kevin O’Connell seems to be ready to deliver the work of Mercal de Campo starting to McCarthy.

Hower, if the Vikings increase their search from Rodgers if it remains without sign, could indicate that the team is not ready to deliver the reins to McCarthy.
