Karachi’s reckless traffic affirms three more lives

Karachi: In another gloomy reminder of the city’s traffic conditions, three motorcyclists lost their lives in separate road accidents on Sunday.

Near Jauhar Mor, a accelerator cement mixer truck crashed with a motorcycle, killing Abdul Saboor, 25, on the spot.

Enraged by the accident, an enraged mafia burned the truck, which caused the police intervention. The authorities arrested the driver of the scene truck.

In another tragic incident in Liaquatabad no 10, a Dumper truck fatally hit a motorcyclist, while in Keamari, a car crashed into a bicycle, claiming another life.

So far this year, Karachi has witnessed at least 207 deaths related to traffic, with 2,623 people suffering wounds. Among these deaths, 64 were caused by heavy vehicles, including 17 by the Dumpers, 22 by trailer trucks, 12 for tank trucks and 13 by passenger buses.

Despite the repeated statements of the Traffic Police and the administration of city measures to stop accidents, fatal accidents continue to affect Karachi roads.
