The Punjab government has announced Eidul Fitr vacations for all educational institutions, confirming that schools will remain closed from March 28.
According to Punjab Minister of Education, public and private schools will observe vacations.
The Secretary of Schools Khalid Wattoo declared that government schools will open again on April 7, while the annual results will be declared on April 4.
The decision occurs when the Pakistan’s department of Meteorology predicts that Eidul Fitr will fall on March 31, on Monday.
The break allows students and teachers to celebrate the festival before the new academic year begins.
Previously, the Federal Government officially announced the holidays on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, giving a three -day break.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet division on Wednesday, vacations will begin from Monday, March 31 to Wednesday, April 2.
In addition, in an effort to stop the overload of rates during Eidul Fitr, the government of Sindh has canceled the vacations of all officers and the staff of the transport department, ensuring that they remain in service during the festive period.
The main minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced the decision on Saturday, stating that transport officials will monitor rates as part of repression throughout the province against transporters who charge excessive rates.
“Overload complaints are common during EID, and we are committed to ensuring that citizens are not forced to pay more than officially approved rates,” Memon said.
The officers of the Transhh transport authority, as well as the regional and district transport bodies, will be deployed to quickly address the complaints. The minister warned that strict measures would be taken against the offenders of rates regulations.
He urged the public to inform any excessive rates collection incident so that the authorities could respond immediately.
