A beggar who intended to be disabled was caught by the Transit Police in Lahore after a deception exhibition.
According to Traffic Police officers, the individual was seen asking for alms near the Ravi bridge, who claimed to have no weapons, said Express News.
The beggar had successfully convinced several citizens of their disability, collecting money from unsuspecting passersby.
However, when the Transit Police approached, the beggar revealed his trick taking his hidden arms from his shirt, exposing the deception.
The incident has raised concerns about beggars using false disability claims to exploit the generosity of the public.
The authorities have indicated that many beggars in the city use similar tactics, pretending to have disabilities to earn public money.
A repression is being carried out in the beggars that operate in traffic signs, markets and main roads through Lahore to stop such scams.
Police also mentioned that some beggars had been repeatedly trapped using similar tricks and would face legal actions to avoid greater exploitation.
The authorities are focusing on fighting misleading begging in the city to protect vulnerable members of society.
