Mike Vratabel returned to the New England patriots to be his chief coach this low season after he won three Super Bowls with the team as a player.
Vratabel, 49, spent eight of his 14 seasons in his career as a player as a supporter of the Patriots and was a key gear in his defense. Vrabel is in the patriotic hall of fame.
Vratabel talked about why he felt that this season was the right time to return to New England as a coach during an appearance in “No with Dakich” of Outkick.

“I think that where I ended up, ultimately, when things opened and began to interview, I think it was the right time to return. I had opportunities before returning here in other capabilities, and I felt that I wanted to have my own training trip, which I had and learned from many people and great coaches,” Vrabel said.
Once his career as a player ended in 2010, Vrabel served as supporters and defensive line coach in his Alma Mater, the state of Ohio, for three seasons.
Vrababe’s first year training at the NFL was 2014, when he was the coach of the supporters for three seasons with the Houston Texans before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2017.

After a season as a defensive coordinator, Vratabel was hired by the Tennessee Titans in 2018 to be his chief coach. Vratabel spent six seasons with the Titans in that role before being fired at the end of the 2023 season.
Vratabel spent last season with the Cleveland Browns as a training and staff consultant, and had a great demand in the bus search cycle of this year.

“I felt the moment was correct [to return]. I appreciated interviews with [the Chicago Bears] and with him [New York Jets] And those organizations, and then, once I could get here, we could do something. “
Vrabel has the task of going around a team of the Patriots that ended in the last East in 4-13 in the 2024 season.
