More than 47,000 police personnel will be deployed at Punjab during Eidul Fitr vacations to guarantee security, the provincial police said on Sunday.

Eidul Fitr is expected to mark the end of Ramadan, take place on Monday, subject to the sighting of the moon.

The three -day holidays are held with great meetings, and although the attacks during EID are rare, the last months have seen an increase in militant violence in the Western provinces of Pakistan, particularly along the Afghanistan border.

“More than 47,000 officers and personnel will be deployed for more than 29,000 EID meetings throughout the province,” said Punjab police on the social media platform X. “Mosquas, Imambargahs, important markets and locations will be continuously monitored by the CCTV cameras.”

In addition, more than 21,000 officers, including women, will be parked in markets and key locations on EID eve.

The Punjab police added that regional police officers and the district would supervise security operations during the holidays, and strict measures would be taken against those who harass women or families. “A wheel of a wheel, aerial shots, hooliganism and fly in comets is prohibited,” they warned.

In the capital, the Islamabad Police will deploy more than 3,500 personnel to ensure the city, with more than 500 traffic officials assigned to guarantee a flow without problems during the festivities.
