Wayne Gretzky, finally, has a company.
Gretzky became the scorer of all NHL on March 23, 1994, when he beat Gordie Howe with his 802 race target.
Now, 31 years later, someone is by his side, since Alex Ovechkin tied Gretzky’s record on Friday night.

Ovechkin entered the game needing two to tie and three to become the new King goals: he lit the lamp just four minutes from the game against the Blackhawks of Chicago.
Little more than five minutes in the third period, the capitals got into play; An obvious scenario on the ice for Ovechkin, and took advantage. He took a pass and screamed for Spencer Knight.
All capitals came to the ice when Ovechkin received a strong and long ovation.
Gretzky was in the building to start his walk to follow Ovechkin on the road, but he will not follow him for much longer. At the time of publication, there were still more than 13 minutes in the game.
Ovechkin was recruited with the first general selection to Washington in 2004, but due to closing, his debut was postponed a year.
Well, it’s made for lost time. And this is not a sense of statistics compilation, since OVI seems to be at its best. In its 20th NHL season, the record goal was the 41st goal of the year of Ovechkin, which occupies the third place in the NHL behind Leon Draisaitl and William Nylander.

Alex Ovechkin Odds: When will the Wayne Gretzky score record break?
This is the fourteenth time Ovechkin has scored 40 goals in his career: the league was not locked again in 2012-13, he would probably have 15 seasons of this type (although he led the league that year with 32 goals). He has led the NHL in goals nine times.
What is even more impressive is that Ovechkin lost almost two months of this season with a broken leg.
Ovechkin seemed to be decreasing just a little last season, scoring “only” 31 goals in 79 games. But maybe he got a little juice, knowing that he could break the record this season.
Ah, and while Ovechkin is breaking records, capitals are contenders of the Stanley Cup: their 105 points are the second most in the NHL.

The good news for Gretzky is that if you eliminate the 894 of its objectives, it still has the most points in the history of the NHL.
