- The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could have the same 200MP sensor as its predecessor, but with a new lens
- The phone will also lack a magnetic ring for Qi2
- Supposedly the pen and its slot will remain, but a posterior model could lack a pen slot
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is still far away, but we are starting to listen to enough things about it, with the last information that lights light on the possible camera, load capabilities and its pen.
All this comes from Tipster @pandaflashpro (through Notebookcck), who, in a series of publications in X, shared several details about the phone. According to them, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will once again have a main camera of 200 megapixels. In fact, it apparently will have exactly the same sensor, but with “updated pixels” and a new lens.
That should be a small update to the main camera, but there are probably no substantial changes.
I just received the second prototype of information, and that device also has the same sensor size as HP2, which means that Samsung is trying to reuse HP2 again with pixels only updated and a new lens. https://t.co/lkypunmbrnApril 6, 2025
Yes to the pen, not the magnets
The lack of substantial changes is an issue for this series of leaks, since the same source also says that the pen and its dedicated slot will remain, which perhaps is not surprising, but indicate that future models may not have a slot for the optical pencil.
And they also say that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will not have a magnetic ring to use with Qi2 load and magnetic accessories. This is the same situation as with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which allows you to use those characteristics, but only if you place the phone in a compatible case, with the magnets integrated in the box instead of the phone.
With the possible exception of abandoning the S Pen slot in a future model, none of this sounds surprising. But we would still take it with a pinch of salt, especially because the fountain does not yet have much history.
And although the previous leaks suggest that not much is changing in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, other aspects could be, with previous leaks that point to a variable opening chamber, a larger battery and a massive performance jump.
