Islamabad:

The president of the Supreme Court, Yahya Afridi, observed on Monday that some judicial findings when granting the bond to the accused in the cases of violence of May 9, 2023 were incorrect. However, he ordered the lawyer that the Punjab government reconsider its plea for the cancellation of the bond.

Upon hearing Punjab’s appeals against the bail grant, the Court suggested that the Court of First Instance be asked to complete the trial procedures within three months and present a report of biweekly progress to the Superior Court in question.

The Punjab government lawyer told the Apex court that a report on the violence of May 9 had been prepared. The lawyer added that the Court of First Instance had not decided bail requests in accordance with the law.

The president of the Supreme Court commented that the relevant material was still expected and that it had not yet been presented to the Court. He also observed that if any defendant used the bond, the law would take its course. He urged the lawyer to reconsider the cancellation supplications of the bond.

Separately, during the hearing of another matter, the Supreme Court observed that the president of the Superior Court of Lahore (LHC) wanted to send a message to the government about the reference against a judge, who was sent and the administrative judge also agreed.

The Supreme Court said that the LHC decision would not affect the careers of the Attorney General and the judge of the Anti -Terror Court (ATC). The president of the Aphridi Court also declared that he did not want to interfere with the authority of the Superior Court.

The Supreme Court, as the appeals for the transfer of cases related to Judge ATC Rawalpindi, confirmed the imposition of the fine of RS200,000 for appeal to the Punjab attorney general.
