Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into the Fencing of the United States. UU. Tuesday after the protest of the Stephanie Turner corner against competition with a transgender athlete.
Turner’s decision to Rodar, receiving a black card and, ultimately, being expelled from an event earlier this month, put the transgender athlete policy of USA Fencing in the care center. “The Fencing of the United States is on the wrong side of the story and potentially the wrong side of the law due to the violations of Texas consumer protection laws,” Paxton said in a statement. “The US Fencing policies are not only potentially illegal, but they are also deeply insulting for young women such as Stephanie Turner who have sacrificed so much and dedicated innumerable hours to compete and succeed in competitions.
“I will fight to stop these unfair policies, and I will never defend the integrity of women’s sports.”

“He knew what he had to do because the Fencing of the United States had not been listening to women’s objections regarding [its gender eligibility policy]”Turner told Pak Gazette Digital in an interview last week.” I knelt immediately at that time. Redmond had the impression that he was going to start wielding. So, when I surrounded me, I looked at the referee and said: ‘I’m sorry, I can’t do this. I am a woman, and this is a man. And this is a female tournament. And I will not validate this individual. ‘”
USA Fencing defended her transinclusion policy last week.
“The Fencing of the United States remains committed to promoting an inclusive and respectful community for all in our sport. We believe in the principle of creating safe communities where all athletes and community members have a place,” reads the statement.
