According to the reports, the group of former Northwest soccer players agreed to resolve their demands against the school, which alleged hazing and abusive behaviors.
The former players agreed to leave all claims against the Northwest and former head coach Pat Fitzgerald as part of the agreement, Bloomberg reported.
Fitzgerald was suspended by Northwestern in July 2023 after a former player of his alleged new boyfriend reported in November 2022. The school conducted his own investigation, and although no evidence of Fitzgerald or his staff was not found knowing such a hazing, he discovered that he had opportunities to inform about the behavior of the ride.

On Tuesday, Fitzgerald lawyers, Dan Webb and Matthew Carter, issued a statement in the evidence that their client “did not commit irregularities.” In addition, Fitzgerald is moving forward with his demand for unfair termination against Northwestern.
“The coach Fitzgerald learned yesterday that the Northwestern University and certain former Northwest soccer players have completed a global settlement agreement to dismiss all the claims made by the players against Northwestern and coach Fitzgerald,” said the lawyer’s statement, through the internal zone.

“While the agreement resolves the claims filed by the players, the statements of coach Fitzgerald against the remains of the Northwest. Fitzgerald was initially suspended two weeks in 2023, but issued a statement claiming that he had no knowledge of any ride. Northwestern players even issued a statement defending their coach, while Schill admitted that he could have been wrong to suspend Fitzgerald.
But more former players presented accusations of racism, which finally led Schill to say goodbye to Fitzgerald completely.
Fitzgerald filed a lawsuit for unfair termination months after his dismissal, claiming that he and Schill reached an oral agreement that he would not face more punishments from the university after the two -week suspension.

Fitzgerald was looking for $ 130 million in damages as part of his demand.
His next date in the Court at his trial against Northwestern is currently scheduled for November 3, 2025.
