- This new Bloomin8 E-Ank canvas frame comes in various sizes and lasts a year with a position
- You can easily place one on your wall and make you turn through shared images through the load of an OA application through an SD card
- These screens also fit into a popular Ikea frame
Digital photo frames are striking pieces of home technology, but come with challenges such as energy cables and the need for a constant connection with the cloud.
What would happen if I could place digital images throughout their home, on each wall, and none of them needed cables or connectivity to the Internet full time? That would be the new Bloomin8 E -ink canvas of Arpobot.
Presented in a Kickstarter program this week, the new full -color electronic union exhibitions are designed to adapt to some standard art and photography frameworks, including the Ikea Rödalm series.
Based on E-Ank’s Spectra6 technology, the rechargeable Bloomin8 sample admits to full color and 200ppi resolution. More importantly, they can contain an image indefinitely, which means that it only needs energy to change the visualization image. A Bloomin8 E-Ank cany can operate, according to Arpobot, for up to one year in charge.
It is a rare use of the consumer for the Spectra6 panel of all color, which e-ank has traditionally launched for commercial use (think of advertising screens). But it is certainly not the only one.
Bloomin8 will compete with the Pocketbook Inkposter that we saw in CES 2025. It also uses the e-twins technology Spectra6, and its application that accompanies it offers a vast library of images.
When we wrote it in January, the generation of images of AI was not mentioned. Nor do we know about their ability to support Ikea’s frames.
Load and block
The images can be set aside through the integrated SD slot of the Bloomin8, which I know is a fairly retro function. In the years prior to connected devices, many of the original photo frames were based on SD cards for their photo libraries. However, Bloomin8 also accepts image updates of its dedicated application on your smartphone (iOS or Android).
Even so, since it is not connected to the cloud and does not need the Internet for its photos, the Bloomin8 E-Ank Canvas does not draw power by showing an image. That is the benefit of e-tw; Once the image is drawn, it remains visible on the screen even without additional energy.
The matt images that we have seen so far look pretty good, although the e -ink takes a few moments to completely solve and saturate the image. It is also worth remembering that E-Ank is a reflective technology and, like a painting or a photo, it only illuminates if it sheds light on it. We still don’t know how well the images will remain in all lighting situations.
If you do not have any art or photos that you want to use or have something completely more in mind, the BLOOM application can generate images of AI that can load on one of the canvases.
Bloomin8 panels come in three sizes: 7.3 inches ($ 167), 133 inches ($ 349) and 28.5 inches ($ 999), which means that you have many options to mix the photo collage wall of your living room. These are Kickstarter prices, and retail trade will be more expensive.
