For decades, the legendary sports winner Jim Nantz has been the familiar sound of The teachers. His tone and family phrases have paired well with the tradition and reverence of Augusta National, but according to Brandel Chamblee, that is not by mistake.
Chamblee, who currently works as a study analyst for the golf channel, said during a recent podcast appearance that covering teachers require a certain type of label, one that transmission producers are strongly encouraged.

“There are things that you should not say: the fan is big. In his eyes, it is a fan abbreviation, and they do not want to refer to the people who are so fanatic. That is why you listen to people to say pattern,” he said in Barstool’s’s’s’s “Foring Play” podcast.
“If I said it, in my ear I would get a – from a producer, I would get ‘Woah!'”
Chamblee pointed out other differences, such as driving range, which in Augusta National is known as the “tournament practice.” He also pointed out that the last nine holes during a round are not known as the “Nine Back.”

“But if you said nine in the air, they will rebuke you because it is the second nine. Because what you do not want to have said, you do not want someone to say it is ‘is playing the rear very well’. Because the back nine is close to the rear, and the rear is too colloquial.”
While it may seem extreme for some, Chamblee said he believes that the approach to cover teachers has given way to some of the most important moments of golf.
“You receive these great calls from Jim Nantz and Verne Lundquist, and at that time it was Ben Wright, and they are judicious in their choice of words. It is softer, it is slower and more reverent. I think it is a large part of the reason why it is the best. golf Tournament of the year, I would say that “.

On Thursday, customers will be received by Nantz, which covers their 40th Masters, with one of the most famous golf sayings: “Hello friends, welcome to a tradition like any other.”
