- The Nintendo Switch 2 Eshop will not have background music
- The music will be absent because Nintendo wanted to prioritize game videos in the store
- Switch 2 producer, Kouichi Kawamoto, said his main approach was the “softer experience” for users
As in the Nintendo Switch, the Switch 2 ESHOP will not have background music while sailing through the versions.
In a new interview with Polygon after Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the producer of the Kouichi Kawamoto console confirmed that the new Eshop will not have any thematic song, unlike Wii and Wii U, but there is a practical reason.
“Unlike then, Eshop now has many videos that show the games,” Kawamoto said. “We didn’t want to make that end up, so we don’t have music there.”
While there will be no catchy music to get stuck in your head, Kawamoto explained that his main approach to improve the Switch 2 ESHOP was performance and make it a softer experience for users.
“I wanted to make sure it was an experience without problems. That the displacement of the list does not stop, which is very soft, the pages are quickly charged,” he said.
Nintendo Switch 2 releases worldwide on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for a Mario de Mario Kart bunch.
The early orders will open on April 8 in the United Kingdom, but Nintendo has delayed 2 advance orders in the US. Since its original April 9 date “to evaluate the potential impact of rates and evolutionary market conditions.”
Nintendo will update the anticipated order time on a later date, but confirmed that the console will still be launched on June 5.
