Imran Khan states that the doors to the establishment are never closed: PTI sources

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) President and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has confirmed that he instructed the main leader of the Azam Swati party to initiate the dialogue with the military establishment.

Speaking to the party leaders and lawyers during a meeting in the Adiala de Rawalpindi jail on Tuesday, Imran emphasized that the scope was not related to their legal cases, but that it was carried out only for the good of Pakistan.

According to informed sources, Imran told its visitors that you have never closed the door to dialogue with the establishment. However, he clarified that his party had ceased conversations with the current government, which he described as he lacked any real authority.

Those who met the founder of PTI included the president of PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, Senator Ali Zafar and the lawyers Zaheer Abbas, Mubashar Awan and Ali Imran.

During the meeting, Senator Zafar looked for Imran’s response to a recent Swati video statement.

In the video, Swati revealed that Imran had directed him to interact with the establishment while holding the nature of the discussions confidential. Swati added that although Imran had publicly criticized military leadership, efforts were ongoing behind the scene to restore dialogue.

In response, Imran reiterated that the dialogue initiative was not about looking for personal favors or legal clemency. “This is Pakistan, democracy, the rule of law and respect for the mandate of the people,” Imran said.

He added that he is committed to fighting his legal battles in the court and will not pursue any rear door relief. Imran emphasized once again, although it has ruled out the conversations with the government, it remains open to the commitment to the military establishment.
