NYT Connections Today (game #669) – The answers
The responses to today’s connections, game #669, are …
- Yellow: yellow tones Canarian, gold, lemon, mustard
- Green: supply Mine, reserve, store, well
- Blue: Christmas anti-spirit Bah, coal, grinch, naughty
- Purple: Words in Spanish She, taste, May, soy
- My qualification: Moderate
- My score: 1 error
Having omitted the obvious trick (Canarian, coal, mine, I fell in love with one of my own creations, thinking that soybeans, mustard, mayonnaise and lemon would make an excellent dressing for salads. It was wrong, of course. I would also add some honey if I was going to do it.
Having yellow tones being the yellow group was a nice touch. I can remember that they have done the same for Green last year (olive, forest, lime and mint), but I don’t think they have yet done blue or purple, so I will be attentive to them.
If the group felt familiar, it could be because yellow tones emerged as a thread issue a few weeks ago, but there we had Goldenrod instead of gold.
The Spanish words seem quite random and I wonder if I lack something special about her (she), taste (flavor), mayonnaise (May) and soy (AM), a common sensation with the purple group, which usually travels a mile on my head.
How did it go today? Avise me in the comments below.

- Purple: Fox___ Glove, hole, hound, jogging
What are NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the several increasingly popular words games made by the New York Times. It challenges him to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple generally very difficult.
On the positive side, he technically does not need to solve the end, since he can answer it for an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you some space to breathe.
However, it is a bit more involved than something like Wordle, and there are many opportunities for the game to move you with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other words games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free through the Nyt Games site in desktop or mobile.
