Masters Champ Fred Couples, 65, eagle since 191 yards


Fred Couple is still doing it.

The 65 -year -old couples began their 40th Masters on Thursday and continued to impress during the first round of the main tournament.

In hole 14, couples were in the middle of the street, 191 yards of the hole. The couples took a ball ride, and bounced in the Green and then began to roll to the hole and fell through an eagle.

The crowd exploded and the couples pumped their fist in the air before kissing their club.

The eagle of the couples 14 was not the only dazzling shot in the day.

In the first hole, couples found themselves out of the green already 16 yards of the hole.

Despite not being in the Green and lowering a hill, the couples decided to use their putter. He rolled the uphill and towards the Green and gave him enough speed to continue directly in the hole for a Birdie.

The 1992 Masters champion ended 1 under torque and gave himself the opportunity to make the cut on Friday.

He is the second oldest player to break the pair in the Masters at age 65. Tom Watson did it at 66 in 2015.

The couples became the oldest player to make the cut in the Masters in 2023, achieving the feat at 63 years, 6 months and five days of age. Only Jack Nicklaus has made more cuts in Augusta National (37) than couples (31).

Couples has 11 top 10 and 20 best 25 finals in their Masters career and has completed 72 holes in the older in five different decades.

With its beginning in the Masters this year, it became the 15th player in the history of Masters with at least 40 openings.
