Washington: The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has replaced a portrait of Barack Obama in the White House with a painting of himself that shows moments after surviving an attempt at murder.
The 78 -year -old Republican on Friday, transferred the image of the Democrat, the only president of the United States, on the opposite side of the hall of the great entry of the famous residence.
The measure is very unusual for a acting president, since most must wait until they are allowed before their portrait was exhibited in the historic 200 -year building.
“Some new works of art in the White House,” said the White House in X, along with a video of people who pass through Trump’s new image in space next to the main staircase where Obama had previously hung.

The new painting captures the dramatic moment when a bloody Trump raised his fist and shouted “fight” after an armed man shot him in the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
A White House official said they had no immediate information about the artist behind the painting. It looks a lot like a photograph of the same moment taken by the Associated Press news agency (AP).
Several White House officials published images of Trump’s painting, which also showed Obama’s portrait near.
“Obama’s portrait moved a few meters away,” said White House Communications director Steven Cheung, on X, while telling him a critic of the move to “Ponte Down, Moron.”
It is common for US presidents to change the portraits of their predecessors, often keeping those of the most recent offices holders in the main entrance hall.
Obama’s portrait was presented in 2022 by then President Joe Biden. It represents the 44th president with a black suit and a gray tie against a smooth white background.
However, the White House fanfare that surrounds the switch reflects Trump’s long and bitter rivalry with Obama, who served from 2009 to 2017.
Trump launched his political career by promoting the theory of racist and false conspiracy of “acrodification”, who falsely said that Obama was not a natural American born.
In return, Obama repeatedly mocked Trump, more famous during a roast at the dinner of the White House correspondent Association in 2011.
The measure also highlights how the former reality show shows has never shunned to honor himself in his various residences.
Recently hung, on the outskirts of the Oval office, a gold -framed version of his photo of a case on the alleged attempts to interfere with the 2020 elections.
In his Mar-A-Lago residence in Florida, he has a great bronze sculpture that captures his challenging reaction to the attempt to murder of butler.
