4.1 The earthquake of magnitude attacks north of Pakistan

They felt tremors in northern Pakistan on Sunday afternoon as an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 beaten with his epicenter in the Kush region of neighboring Afghanistan, said the department of Meteorology of Pakistan.

The earthquake occurred at 2:50 pm local time and was recorded at a depth of 60 kilometers below the land surface.

Although tremors caused brief panic in several areas, there were no immediate reports of victims or damage to property. The residents in Islamabad and the surrounding regions left the buildings, reciting the sentences as a precautionary response.

The authorities confirmed that the epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan, a seismically active region known for triggering earthquakes from low to moderate intensity in Pakistan.

Disaster response agencies said they are monitoring the situation, but no emergency action was considered necessary at this stage.

Yesterday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 hit parts of Pakistan with tremors in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several districts in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, according to the department of meteorology of Pakistan (PMD).

The National Seismic Monitoring Center reported that the epicenter was located approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Rawalpindi, at a depth of 12 kilometers.

The tremors were recorded at 12:31 pm local time.

The Provincial Disaster Authority (PDMA) PUNJAB confirmed that the earthquake was also felt in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat and other areas of the province.
