Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has announced a new policy for meetings with its founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently in jail, Express News reported Sunday.

In a statement issued after a meeting of the Political Committee, PTI said that a Committee of five members will be formed to administer and approve the list of people allowed to meet with Khan.

The list will end every Tuesday and Thursday and will be presented to the prison authorities through one of the three designated focal people; Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Raja or Intizar Panjhotha.

The party warned that any person outside the approved list may meet with Khan. Any member who challenges this rule will be considered in violation of the discipline of the party.

If prison officials block any approved visitor, the remaining members of the Committee will protest to meet Khan collectively. In such cases, PTI said that he would present a request for contempt against officials.

The party added that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government officials (KP) would be exempt from this restriction and can visit Khan at any time without the approval of the committee.
